Please remember the last check out of the day is 3 pm. We will be happy to let your student know to be a car rider after this time.  As of May 1st students will not be allowed to carry a negative balance in the cafeteria for the remainder of the school year. They must have enough money in their account or with them in order to purchase food. Current negative balances must be paid prior to the last day of school.  There will be a Cross Country Meeting, Thursday, May 10, 2018 in the Sparkman HS Cafeteria from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. If you have any additional questions, contact Coach Austin via email at"

Principal's Message

My name is Anthony Thompson.  I am Katie’s husband and daddy to Allie and Benjamin.  Family is first and foremost in my life.  My interactions with all who enter our school’s doors are based on four parts: 1) I love you; 2) I will not intentionally lie to you; 3) We are in this together; and 4) We own our choices.

There is no one more important than anyone else at Monrovia Middle School when it comes to educating and helping raise your child.  Our bus drivers are the first and last to see many of our students each day, our cafeteria workers lovingly cook two meals per day for over 1,000 children, our custodial staff ensures that the school is clean each day, our office staff greets all who have needs, whether those needs are seeing the nurse, scheduling, money, check-ins, check-outs or anything else at 1216 Jeff Road.  The teachers that your child sees each day are dedicated, prepared, and compassionate. Your children are in the best hands for molding, shaping, and preparing your children for a future that is going to be certainly challenging, engaging, and full of choice.  Our administrative staff are here to serve all of our stakeholders to the best of our abilities.  The goal of the faculty and staff of Monrovia Middle is to prepare your child for whatever purpose they are here to fulfill.

As principal of Monrovia Middle School, I want our name to be linked to kindness, service to others, and protecting our house.  If our students, parents, faculty, staff and community will treat each other the way in which they would like to be treated, this will be achieved.  I look forward to serving you in a manner that is centered on these ideals.
